Recommendations for preparing and packing battery for shipping

Preparing the battery for shipping

Before packing the battery, please do a few simple steps:

1. Disconnect the charger from the battery.
2. Turn off the battery using the switch (or key).
3. If needed, clean the battery surface from dust and dirt.
4. Wrap the battery in a non-conductive material (film, paper). Do not use metal foil - it conducts electric current and may cause a short circuit in the battery contacts!

Packaging the battery

When packing your battery, please don't forget to include the charger and key (if needed to turn on the battery!)

For sending the battery to us, you can use a regular sturdy cardboard box of the appropriate size.

The main goal of packaging is to protect the battery from any damage inside the cardboard box, even in the event of the box falling from a height of up to 1.5 meters during transportation (unfortunately, such cases sometimes happen).

This seemingly complicated task is actually quite simple:

Step 1: The cardboard box should be made of thick cardboard and be larger than your battery on each side by at least 5 centimeters. For example, if your battery measures 40x15x10 centimeters, the box should be at least 50x25x20 cm. If you don't have a cardboard box of the optimal size, but you have a larger box, you can always cut it down to the required dimensions using a sharp knife or scissors.

Step 2: All the space of at least 5 centimeters on each side between the battery and the cardboard box should be tightly filled with any suitable soft filler to prevent the battery from directly contacting the box and shifting inside the box. Note that filling the voids with filler in the box should be tight, and the battery inside the box should not shake or move if you shake the box. The filler should be dry. In the absence of special bubble wrap or packaging materials, you can use household materials, such as crumpled paper, thin cardboard, or rags. To avoid the need for excessive filler, the dimensions of the box should not be made too large.

Step 3: After placing the battery, charger, and keys inside the box and filling it with a soft filler, tightly seal the box with regular tape in several places. Shake the box and check again if the battery moves inside. If it still moves or shakes, open the box and add more filler where needed.

Congratulations, the packaging is complete! If you did everything correctly, your battery will remain undamaged even if the box falls from a height of up to 1.5 meters.

Attention!

We ask you to inform us and refrain from sending your battery by delivery services if its critical malfunction poses a danger and can lead to a fire during transportation. Such dangerous battery malfunctions can be indicated by the following events that have occurred at least once with the battery:

1. Smoke coming out of the battery or it starting to emit a foul odor.
2. Suddenly, the surface of the battery itself started to heat up significantly without any explanation.
3. The battery itself suddenly started making noises (pop, crackle, click, etc.)
4. The battery was previously submerged in water.

If none of the above has ever happened with your battery, you can consider it safe, and you can confidently send it to us for inspection.
